FEMA Blue 1 Oklahoma Recovery Slideshow

I should have posted this a long time ago, but I want to share my team's "celebration" video from our project round supporting disaster survivors in Oklahoma this past May-June. After each project round we are required to put together a presentation to celebrate our accomplishments for the round, so we made this slideshow. Enjoy! FEMA Blue 1 Oklahoma Deployment

Post 6 -- Rounds 2 and 3

Sorry it's been so long since I posted an update! My team and I have served in Washington, D.C. and Jefferson City, Missouri since we left Oklahoma! We'll graduate from the program in four short weeks; it's hard to believe it will be over so soon! I'm considering serving a second term, but I'm not sure yet. Hope you enjoy this video update!

Biggest Agave ever!

I was walking in Berkeley yesterday and came across this monster! It looks like the same species that I had sent to me from CA last year

Post 4 - Oakland, office work, and national parks

The last month has flown by; we've completed FEMA training, started our first project round, (my team, FEMA Blue 1, ended up staying on the West Coast), and have been separated from the rest of our Corps for a few weeks now

Post 3 - On the Road to New Mexico - 3/10/13

My team and I have completed AmeriCorps training and are on our way to New Mexico to train with FEMA! Despite several delays, we had a couple extra hours to stop and play at White Sands National Monument!

Post 1 -- Good bye, Tennessee!

Hi, everyone! My name is Chris, and tomorrow I will begin an exciting new chapter of my life. I'll be serving with the AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps for the next ten months, traveling all over the West coast completing disaster relief projects. I want to use this blog to keep my friends and family updated on my shennanigans, as well as to inform prospective applicants about what the program is like. I'll try to keep everyone up to speed on what's going on, but it seems like I'll be extremely busy! Because of this, most of my entries will probably be short video blogs linked from my YouTube account. If you'd like more information on AmeriCorps and its programs, visit www.AmeriCorps.gov
